Boat in One - You've heard of a Hole in One, but, have you heard of a Boat in One.
During a recent golfing trip by Sanctuary Cove Golf Club members to Gulf Harbour and Wairakei,
a member who has a lakeside holiday home put on an impromptu 'Boat in One' contest during a cocktail party. Here Phil, Club Captain, off a 2 handicap, misses his 2 attempts.
The launch can be seen anchored some 150 metres offshore.

Jason Butler - This is more inspiring than just 'interesting'.
Jason, three years ago, hit the
perfect shot, and 'last weekend he won the club's junior matchplay title'. "I don't consider
myself different from anyone else, I'm out there to win," said Butler, who has been playing
the game for five years and now plays off a 21 handicap. " Some days things work, other days
they don't". "To start with, I wondered what the hell I was doing here, but players at the Waitara
club have been great". "With golf, you get a handicap and, if you play to it, you're right".
Congratulations Jason, and thanks to Bill Bird for sending in the article, and to Murray Hills of the Taranaki Daily News,
whose article it was. Sorry for the quality of the scan, I thought it worthy of including
even though my expertise was not up to standard. It was from a newspaper article.

My First Golf Club - Josh received his first golf club for christmas. His Dad cut down a
7 iron. 'So what better place to practice than the backyard, with windows, bunkers and the next doors
fence as the out of bounds.
