Our History
Opened in 1932, the current course layout has evolved over many years to be one
of Auckland's premier golfing experiences.
In 1998 modifications were carried out under the guidance of New Zealand professional
Greg Turner.
The changes incorporated his philosophy that a course should create challenges for all
levels of golfers whilst ensuring that longer handicappers will enjoy their "Walk in the Park"
|
A Walk in the Park
Manukau's large variety of trees and lush fairways blend to form a park like setting and
restful ambience. It is an easy walking course and it's coastal location and relatively
free draining soil type affords all weather playing conditions. The tree lined fairways,
tight driving holes and unpredictable breeze of the Manukau harbour provide golfers
of all levels a challenging and pleasurable day out.
The Club's other amenities include a modern pro shop, high quality practice
facilities and a Clubhouse with lounge, bar and kitchen facilities.
The Board of Management is committed to ensure that the style and feel of the Club
is enhanced for future generaltions of golfers to enjoy. To this end the course
and other amenities are continually being upgraded and a long-term tree maintenance
and replanting programme has been established.

Membership
The Club has a strong and active membership. The principle membership categories are
Seven Day (entitlement to play any day of the week), Six Day (playing entitlement excludes
saturdays) and Week Days. In addition the Club has a very strong Junior membership
and actively supports the development of young and aspiring golfers. New membership enquiries
are welcome.
Interclub Competition
Active competition is the lifeblood of the Manukau Golf Club. The Club is a very strong
contender in interclub competitions at all levels and it's name appears regularly on most of
the principle trophies of the Auckland district. Also a large number of Manukau's members
have regularly represented Auckland in inter provincial competition. Strong Competitive
teams start at the Junior level and many of the Club's senior golfers originally joined as
Juniors.
