GoforGOLF . . . NEWSLETTER ONE HUNDRED & FIVE . . . GoforGOLF

Newsletter Number 105 from GoforGOLF ************************************************************************ Now in our 8TH YEAR with over ** 45,000 ** scorecards entered and courses from over 62 countries . . . and growing by the day. WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE CREATED THIS GOLFING ENVIRONMENT . . . ************************************************************************ IN THIS ISSUE *** The Tiger ATTACK *** Competition Winner *** Holes in One and Eagles *** WIN ONE Dozen Premium Golf Balls *** HandiTIPS *** More Golf & Sports Links *** Flagstick ************************************************************************ *** THE TIGER ATTACK Have you ever been attacked by a Tiger ? I am sure ALL the other players on the USPGA Tour feel the same about the mauling they are taking. 7 out of the last 8 . . . last 6 tournaments in a row . . . Entered 2 FedEx Cup / PGA Tour events for 2 wins. I only enter tournaments if I intend to win . . . that is Tiger Woods' comment . . . not a quote . . . but very close. I know I am starting to sound like a parot, repeating myself, but, what else can I do. 4 down in the first round of the WGC Accenture Match Play Champs, and he wins. Then goes on the win the tournament with a Final of 8 and 7 over Stewart Cink. If he is ever going to achieve the Grand Slam, this year must be it. I am off to put a bet on, put my house on it. (Well !!). . . . . . . As a Kiwi, I blame it all on Stevie Williams, Caddie. . . . . . . I have also enjoyed seeing some Kiwi names at the top of the leader boards recently, after what seems a long absence, and particularly, seeing the win by Mark Brown in India. Tim Wilkinson has shown some good form on the toughest Tour, in the US, and I am sure he will put in a complete performance soon. And not to forget hard working David Smail, with a 2nd in the HSBC NZ PGA Championship. You will see David's name again on the Asian Tour results, and I understand he is looking to have the odd trip elsewhere this year. . . . . . . Now I can't finish this newsletter, without mentioning another terrific player, coming back from injury, Annika Sorenstam has started this year with a 1st in the SBS Open, Hawaii, a 4th in the Fields Open, and now 2nd in the HSBC Womens Champions event. . . . . . . If this isn't setting up as another terrific year of golf . . . ? . . . . . . I do invite and encourage you to send me your views on events, or on my comments . . . to email . . . greg@goforgolf.com Enjoy your Golf Greg Paul GoforGOLF __________________________________________________________ *** FEBRUARY COMPETITION The February Spot the Ball contest was not picked, although again a number were very close. To register a fairway hit just click the box. It is usual to only record distance hit when your tee shot ends up in the fairway. By ticking the box and entering the distance, you will receive: Your percentage of fairways hit Your longest drive Your average drive Note: GoforGOLF is designed to be flexible and suit your own requirements. You can tick the fairways hit, without the need to enter a distance. Your percentage will update without effecting the average distance.
