Newsletter Number 119 from GoforGOLF ************************************************************************ Now in our 10TH YEAR with over ** 49,000 ** scorecards entered and courses from over 63 countries . . . and growing by the day. WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE CREATED THIS GOLFING ENVIRONMENT . . . ************************************************************************ IN THIS ISSUE *** The 5th Major *** Competition Winner *** Holes in One and Eagles *** WIN ONE Dozen Premium Golf Balls *** More Golf & Sports Links *** Driving Range ************************************************************************ *** The 5th MAJOR . . . Last month's newsletter was a bit late, so I have already covered the Masters and the great finish. To continue my Danny Lee watch, we saw him miss the cut in his first professional tournament, but, a terrific performance in his second, the Quail Hollow C'ship. Competing against many of the top players, he slipped of the pace in the 4th round, but, if you look at the names of those that missed the cut, he did all right. I'll keep watching . . . you should to. . . . Now we have THE PLAYERS Championship, the 5th Major, to look forward to, with a $9.5 million purse, $1.71 m for the winner. And those are US dollars. Who will you pick to win this year ? Tiger on his steady improvement, Phil striking some good form, where were Vijay and Sergio at the Masters, and then there is Jim Furyk, Geoff Ogilvy and Shingo Katayama. Or will one of the young guys break through, like Rory McIlroy, or will we see the old Guys, Kenny Perry and Angel Cabrera show up the rest of the field again, or even my favorite player Fred Couples. Yeah. I could list a number of others, like Robert Allenby, Aaron Baddeley, Adam Scott, Thongchai Jaidee, Davis Love III, Camilo Villegas, Bubba Watson, Retief Goosen, all who have produced some good results in the lead up, and don't forget the big easy, Ernie Els. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if else wins, as I read the entries, I see a number of other names that could surprise. . . . . . . I do invite and encourage you to send me your views on events, or on my comments . . . email . . . greg@goforgolf.com Enjoy your Golf Greg Paul GoforGOLF __________________________________________________________ *** APRIL COMPETITION Winner of the April Spot the Ball competition was: John Matthews of Christchurch, New Zealand.
