Absolutely unbelievable" I had to say something about Craig Perks' finish at The Players Championship. If he wanted to give New Zealand a heart attack, he did his best. Having lead several times during the last round, the short putt on the 15th seemed to end his chances. Then to chip on the 16th from 6 inches from the drop to the water, to once again go into the lead, and hit the most fantastic putt on the island green of the 17th . . . and then put his tee shot into the tree . . . what more could happen. Had he given the championship back to Stephen Ames. No, he just manages to chip onto the fairway and then puts his approach shot into the rough at the back of the green . . . Then chips in !!! for the win. Congratulations Craig, on a deserved win after many years of graft on the various US tours. __________________________________________________________ *** COMPETITION WINNER Congratulations to the winner of our March competition. This month's winner is from Waikouaiti, Dunedin. Brenda tells us of an impromptu 'Boat in One' contest at Taupo while on their golfing tour to Gulf Harbour and Wairakei Golf courses by a group from Sanctuary Cove Golf Club in Queensland. "A member offered his boat moored some 150 metres off shore and the contest was to land a golf ball on the boat. . . my husband celebrated after aceing it with a 5 iron" See the photos in the GoforGOLF Photo Gallery. John advises us that he scored a hole-in-one on 26th Feb on the 8th hole at Waikanae - Remember to enter your score into GoforGOLF to keep a record of your day. Well, I've found this new system that guarantees to fix your slice in 21 days. I've had a look at what is offered, and it is substantial, easy to follow and I am sure if you follow the system, it will fix your problem. What's more, the author says, if you haven't fixed your slice and gained at least 17 yards in distance after 21 days of following his instructions, he'll not only refund your money, BUT, he'll also give you an extra $25 back. Now to offer a guarantee like that you've got to either be crazy or very confident that the product is going to work. Remember, you need to follow the instructions, but if you do, you will be hitting the ball longer and straighter. Give it a look at - just click: http://www.how-to-fix-your-golf-slice.com/ls/c1.cgi/gfg_gpc __________________________________________________________ *** APRIL COMPETITION This month the prize is the NEW edition of Top New Zealand Golf Courses By NZPGA Professional Rex Gould JUST Released Rex reviews the top 50 golf courses in New Zealand as well as the 5 stunning new courses. The criteria for selection covered factors such as location and atmosphere, course quality and year-round playing conditions, the suitability of the course for a range of playing abilities, and clubhouse facilities. TO ENTER - CLICK on the banner advert on the GoforGOLF website http://www.goforgolf.co.nz or go direct to the entry form at http://www.goforgolf.co.nz/contest.asp The winners will be drawn from the correct entries by the management of Sports Information Management Ltd. The results will be final. (and there is the usual the small print?) No correspondence or discussion will be entered into. __________________________________________________________ *** HandiTIPS 1. Coaching Tips After a break undertaking upgrade work at the Manukau Golf Club, our resident Golf Professional, Rex Gould, has forwarded some Coaching Tips. These will be added to the website in the next few days. http://www.goforgolf.co.nz/tips.asp 2. Advanced Analysis - Fairways Hit The Advanced Analysis has the facility to enter when you hit the fairway, and to enter the distance hit. To register a fairway hit, just click in the box. It is usual to only record distance when you tee shot ends up in the fairway. This will give you a percentage of faiways hit, and the longest and average distance hit. Note: You can tick the fairways hit, without entering a distance. Your percentage will be updated while not effecting the average distance. (The distance is only updated when a distance is entered). Email me on . . . greg@goforgolf.com . . . and I will help you with any problems you may have with registering and entering your scorecards and courses. REMEMBER the more scorecards you enter, the better the analysis you will receive from GoforGOLF. __________________________________________________________ *** SUGGESTIONS, QUESTIONS & COMMENTS Suggestions, questions and comments are welcomed.
