Then alternate hitting shots with your short irons and long irons. And when you do hit shots with your long irons, don't worry about the shot, but try to replicate the tempo that you have with your short irons. Doing this will help you immensely. And another thing you can do when swinging your long irons that will help is to imagine you are swinging a short iron when you are actually swinging a long club.
