GoforGOLF . . . NEWSLETTER EIGHTY TWO . . . GoforGOLF
Newsletter Number 82 from GoforGOLF ************************************************************************ Now in our 7TH YEAR with over * 37,000 * scorecards entered and courses from over 53 countries . . . and growing by the day. WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE CREATED THIS GOLFING ENVIRONMENT . . . ************************************************************************ IN THIS ISSUE *** The MAJORS are Here *** Competition Winners *** Holes in One and Eagles *** WIN One Dozen Premium Golf Balls *** HandiTIPS *** More Golf & Sports Links *** Knockdown ************************************************************************ *** THE MAJORS ARE HERE I was starting to think that Tiger was back to his best, and was going to be hard to beat, but, Phil has just shown he is right on form and ready for the Masters. And while Vijay has been off the pace, I would right him off, and of course Retief and Sergio have been showing at the top of the recent results as well. For a sneaky bet, put your money on Ernie . . . not seen much recently. However, his return from injury was impressive. Has he been resting up and training up for this event ??? Then again there is the bunch of young guys and a few Ockers: Consider, (from the money leaders list), Geoff Ogilvy (2), Stephen Ames (6), Luke Donald (8), Camilo Villegas (11), Rod Pampling (14), J.B.Holmes (15), Adam scott (27) For us Kiwis, there is Michael Campbell - can he repeat is efforts of 2005, or is it too early in the year for him to perform ? And how many previous winners are playing: 27 of the around 120. Tommy Aaron, Seve Ballestros, Gay Brewer, Olin Browne, Billy Casper, Charles Coody, Fred Couples, Ben Crenshaw, Nick Faldo, Raymond Floyd, Bob Goalby, Berhard Langer, Sandy Lyle, Phil who Mickelson, Larry Mize, Byron Nelson, Jack Niclaus, Jose Maria Olazabal, Mark O'Meara, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Craig Stadler, Tom Watson, Mike Weir, Tiger Woods, Ian Woosnam and Fuzzy Zoeller. Should winners have a lifetime exemption ??? I'm one who says YES. The Masters is a last bastian of tradition, and although not all traditions should be continued, I am willing to believe that previous winners will bow out appropriately, with dignity, when they are no longer competitive considering the standard they are playing. Does this mean, once they do not expect to make The Cut, I don't think so, as there are always many players in every event that do not expect to make the cut . . . but are always striving to do so . . . Will Phil move from the best player not to win a Major, to one of few who has won the Masters multiple times . . . ? * * * BE IN TO WIN * * * A Special Masters Competition * * * * * * BE IN TO WIN * * * A Special Masters Competition * * * Email me at greg@goforgolf.com with the "subject" . . . "Masters" WITH your pick for the winner, and be in to win a copy of the CD "Play Better Golf" by Top hypnotherapist Grant Boddington http://www.nzhypnosis.com/play-better-golf-cd.html (In the case of more than one correct entry, I will draw a winner) Enjoy the Golf Greg Paul I do invite and encourage you to send me your views on my comments to email greg@goforgolf.com Greg Paul __________________________________________________________ *** MARCH COMPETITION The winner for March was Allan Richards.
